Matt grew up in Indiana and graduated from Purdue University in 1991. He and his wife Laura met while serving on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU)and were married in 1994. They have four children, Anna (husband Blake), Emily, J.R., and Benjamin. Matt received his MDiv from Moody Graduate School in 2005. In 2006, they left CRU and began ministry in the local church. The Lord opened the door for them to join the Bethel Church family in the fall of 2021.

Matt is committed to seeing people become faithful followers of Jesus and be committed to His Word, His Commandment, His Commission, and His Church. One of his favorite verses is Galatians 2:20, which says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” In his free time, Matt enjoys hanging out with Laura, fishing, hunting, reading, mountain biking, and watching movies.
