About the Speaker
Hi! My name is Greg Chenoweth. I am looking forward to meeting you at your Fall Retreat this September at Hidden Acres. I have been married to my wife Sue for 40 years and we have 4 adult children- Brian (Madison); Daniel; Joann (Nick), and David (Emma). We also have 2 grandchildren. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Speech Communications. I have a Masters in Biblical Studies from The International School of Theology and I served with CRU for 16 years. I was the Assistant Pastor at Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls, IA for 4 years, and Senior Pastor at Geneseo E. Free Church for 8 years. Currently, I’m a residential house painter and Interim Pastor and I am a volunteer Pastor of Residents at Windsor Manor Retirement Home.
I enjoy taking friends on backpacking trips to experience the Awe! and Ahhh! of the Lord in the Colorado mountains. Each hike comes with its own divinely designed experiences, kind of like your life. I call them “The Trials of the Trail.” During our time together, we will be using my hiking experiences to illustrate how to Navigate through the Trials on your Trail. We will discuss the importance of knowing how to use your Map and Compass (The Word of God); how to Pack for the Trail (avoiding unnecessary burdens – Hebrews 12:1); how to Train for the Trail (developing endurance – Hebrews 12). And we will remind each other of the Reward of enduring the Trials on the Trail (the Hope of Glory – Romans 8:18).
